Taman Negara is old wild Malaysian oudh, collected directly by us from the tribal communities deep within the Taman Negara rainforest of Malaysia.

For these communities, oud is far more than fragrant wood. It has long served as a form of stored wealth almost a natural currency. The finest pieces are carefully preserved in sacks suspended from the rafters of their huts, to climatise to their environment. When the need arises to fund a marriage, build a home, or undertake an important project, these treasured relics are brought out and sold, their value understood and respected by generations.

The woods we’ve acquired came from elders who had been safeguarding them for many years. These are not freshly harvested pieces they are aged relics with history embedded in every fibre.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve painstakingly cleaned each piece by hand and carefully cut them into manageable sizes. Traditionally, the tribes avoid cutting their oud, so each piece has required patience and respect to prepare without compromising its character.
