100% authentic oudh from the best natural ingredients
The soul of Hainan captured in a drop.
In the world of fine fragrances, few oils offer the mystery, heritage, and depth of real oudh. Even fewer come from the untouched forests of Hainan, China, where wild Aquilaria sinensis trees grow. These trees produce one of the rarest and most sought-after oudh profiles. We proudly offer Hainan oud, a pure and handcrafted oil made through traditional Chinese distillation. This process follows patience, respect, and a strong focus on quality. Each step brings out the natural beauty of the wood.
True wild Hainan oud oil is rare, even for experienced collectors. For years, Hainan’s agarwood stayed out of reach due to forest protection laws and the decline of wild trees. Our team sourced aged wild agarwood from long-time collectors in Mainland China. They had stored this wood for decades, understanding its value and unique origin.
Using the Shifu method, we distilled this oil with great care. We chose clean spring water for a long, slow hydrodistillation. In addition, stainless steel deg-stills preserved the rich scent layers. Our team used low and steady heat to release the wood’s full complexity. After distillation, we cured the oil over time, allowing the scent to mature and settle. Moreover, we applied techniques that maintained the wood’s unique aroma without losing depth.
As a result, this Hainan oud oil offers a distinct fragrance journey. It opens with green, forest-like notes that remind you of rainforest air and mountain wood. For example, you may notice moss, damp cedar, and herbal tones. Unlike Indian or Cambodian oudh, it feels cool and dry with a slightly bitter edge. Then, the scent shifts to spiced tea, aged paper, and woody freshness. Finally, it settles into leather, incense, and soft mineral notes.
Hainan oud oil is calm and deep. It unfolds layer by layer, with each moment revealing a new side. This is not made for mass use. Instead, it’s for those who value rare scents, pure ingredients, and meaningful craftsmanship. Chinese Hainan oud oil tells a story through its scent, a journey from ancient forest to refined creation.

OUDH FACTS
When used in a perfume composition, Oud is most often a base note, which tends to remain on the skin long after the others dissipate. Since they form the perfume’s foundation, base notes are very rich, heavy and long-lasting (up to six hours and more). They serve to enhance the scent of other ingredients; and, in some cases, they impart a fragrance all their own. While most wood notes are known for their earthy qualities, Oud provides a pleasant sweet scent and is often featured in a synthetic version because it is so costly to harvest.

Received this morning. A very lovely oudh oil from China. Quite a complex oil that moves through the scent gears all immediately from application on the skin. Damp rain forest note arrives upon settling. Numerous other scents came to my nose in quick succession. The procession moves along and undergoes wafting scents after about the two hour mark (it is 24’C as I write and quite humid) Very fragrant meditative notes come to life after about the three and one half hour time, after application.
A truly elegant Hainan oudh oil and glad I have it in my collection today.

Delighted with this purchase. The oil is of an extremely high quality as to be expected from Al Shareef Oudh. I had postponed other potential purchase’s of a Chinese oil as I prefer to wait for quality. Certainly not disappointed with this Hainan oil. Beautiful notes throughout that keep giving. Very good longevity. Worth the wait. This is highly recommended for any potential purchaser who wish to hold and mature their oud in collection form. This will only increase in olfactory pleasure with maturing.
