Bakhoor making is an art passed down within families mostly by the women, mother to daughter
In the Yemen a wonderfully scented home is the pride of the woman of the house, an accolade of her skills, success and finesse, and a chapter in the narrative of her rich tradition.
Bakhoor making is an art passed down within families mostly by the women, mother to daughter, shout out to all the mothers, daughters and sisters. This is done so because they are the Queen of the home and they decide how the home is furnished and dressed. Bakhoor was and remains today an integral part of that home making art.
Our Arab tribes are of two main origins, the Qahtan and the Adnan. The Qahtan hail from Yemen and with them comes the oldest incense traditions known to man. Yemen and her people were dear to our beloved Prophet PBUH. Paying homage to this rich heritage, for the first time we have created this formula that goes back more than a 1000 years.
Aden the bakhoor is cooked like a dish, ingredients are placed in a pot over the fire, and cooked slowly into perfection. The quality of the bakhoor depends both on the ingredients utilised and the cooking skill of the woman cooking the incense. Secret formulae of these Bakhoors used to be hushedly passed down from mother to daughter, from generation to generation.  Crafting the Bakhoor is a joyous event – a gathering of wizened elders, the joyous sounds of laughter, the rhythmic celebratory hum of the Duff (drum) and an assembly of the tribes – each one creating their own unique scents, scripting tales too complex to be conveyed by mere words.
These formulae used utilise the best and rarest of ingredients with no expenses spared, these ingredients are not just a means to an end but the cream of the crop, and the price reflects this; Saffron from Iran, Frankincense from Oman, the best of Oudhs from South East Asia, Musk, Indian Sandalwood, and of course Rose – and the list goes on.
Whether you use incense for your own pleasure or welcoming guests, Aden will ensure you stand tall with elegance and prestige leaving behind you a luscious trail of scent; filling your surroundings with most welcoming and inviting aroma that carries the tales of generations.

OUDH FACTS
When used in a perfume composition, Oud is most often a base note, which tends to remain on the skin long after the others dissipate. Since they form the perfume’s foundation, base notes are very rich, heavy and long-lasting (up to six hours and more). They serve to enhance the scent of other ingredients; and, in some cases, they impart a fragrance all their own. While most wood notes are known for their earthy qualities, Oud provides a pleasant sweet scent and is often featured in a synthetic version because it is so costly to harvest.

One of the best bakhoors I’ve ever smelled. It smells so natural and not overwhelming, just amazing stuff and I wish they would make a perfume that smells like it I would be the first to purchase. Thanks to Al Shareef Oudh for this gem.
