ASEEL From the Arabic meaning noble and of good stock- this is exactly what Aseel is.
For centuries the Oudh of the Indian subcontinent has been highly sought after in the Middle East due to its grace and grit. This constant and eager demand resulted in this region being one of the foremost places where wild Oudh stocks diminished first. Whilst the reduction in wild stock was bad news the local population who were both creative and industrious did not allow these realities to set them back. They immediately began to plant Oudh trees across the whole Oudh growing region extending from India all the way to Bangladesh. Today Bangladesh and India have some of the oldest planted Oudh trees aging over 35 years old.
In addition to this, another wonderful initiative they undertook was to encourage farmers and villagers to plant Oudh trees on their properties. In most cases these trees were planted and forgotten about but today these trees are huge and provide a good financial potential for the villagers who own them. As time passed local forestry officials educated the locals on what signs to look for as indicators that the tree has produced Oudh. Many vendors classify such trees as wild but we classify these as natural trees – planted by man but nurtured in the wilderness.
ASEEL is Oudh Oil distilled from such trees. Our aim was not to produce a meek, fluffy scent that was passive and undistinguishable but this Oil is all about the intricacies, depth and facets of Oudh scent and good stock of wood. We have seized and projected every detail of this Oudh. It demands your attention and the attention of those around you, as it flirts, tantalises and challenges your senses. Temptingly Oudhy with just a touch of muskiness that invites you to explore further – and you will return for more.
Layers of Oudhiness, the floral veil of dark fruits, glimpses of sun-beaten barn and the flirtatious dark bitter forest combining with spicy herbs and oriental leathers – This is ASEEL. A rich and hypnotically noble oil guaranteed to entice.
The fragrance of middle eastern royalty, natural, niche and luxury.
When used in a perfume composition, Oud is most often a base note, which tends to remain on the skin long after the others dissipate. Since they form the perfume’s foundation, base notes are very rich, heavy and long-lasting (up to six hours and more). They serve to enhance the scent of other ingredients; and, in some cases, they impart a fragrance all their own. While most wood notes are known for their earthy qualities, Oud provides a pleasant sweet scent and is often featured in a synthetic version because it is so costly to harvest.
