In the Islamic tradition, Black Seed is glorified as ‘al Habbat al Barakah’ – the blessed seed – with the term “Al Barakah” signifying its “blessed” status. Its widespread usage is primarily due to the authentic Prophetic statement recorded by the renowned scholar al-Bukhari that “the Black Seed is a cure for all illnesses except death”.

With black seed oil widely and cheaply available on the market we were extremely disappointed to find many of those purported ‘pure’ oils were of cheap and compromised quality and we were requested by our near and dear to produce pure uncompromised black seed oil.

With years of experience in crafting some of the highest quality essential oils from fragrant plants and woods alike we know well what a premium Oil looks, feels, tastes and of course smells like.

After 12 months of extensive research into every aspect of this astounding seed, from plant genetics, climate conditions to its phytoelements we embarked upon the fascinating journey of pressing the highest quality Oil from seed. We spared no effort to acquire the best hardware available in the market to supplement our artisanal effort for the task at hand and we reached out far and wide; Italy, UK, Sweden and even locally here in Australia. After months of collaboration, discussions, design and redesign across different time zones and continents we finally developed the pressing system and method that was going to yield premium quality Cold Pressed Black Seed Oil. It was finally time to bring all the pieces back to Australia and begin the wonderful journey of pressing these ‘blessed’ seeds.

Hand fed and pressed in small batches to ensure every batch is pressed just in time for shipping giving you premium freshly pressed oil with a maximum shelf life. Pressed at slow speed, water cooled, hand collected, meticulously settled and bottled with care. We selected amber glass bottles to protect the oils from the harmful effects of UV rays, leaching or element contamination as can happen with metals and plastics bottles.

Cold pressed to ensure none of the temperature-sensitive essential elements are destroyed and that the most amount of goodness is extracted from the seed into the oil. With our 100% pure premium quality cold pressed Black Seed oil you have full peace of mind that our oils have been pressed in-house, on-site at Al Shareef with complete devotion, love and dedication.

No short cuts, no additives, no stretching and no contracting to third party presses.

Established both historically and religiously, black seed is a diversely beneficial herb with wide ranging benefits. For over three thousand years, people have used it to cure numerous ailments and to maintain and improve general health. The earliest usage of Black Seed is traced back to the Assyrians in ancient Egypt where black seed oil was applied externally to nourish the skin and used as a digestive aid. Treasured as an essential of daily Egyptian life they acknowledged the benefits of Nigella Sativa and described it as a panacea (cure for problems and diseases) – Tutankhamun even had a bottle of the oil in his tomb! The Romans also knew this seed and called it ’Greek Coriander’ and used it as a dietary supplement.

People have used the tiny ‘black seeds’ of Nigella Sativa for thousands of years in cooking, baking and even beverages. In biblical times, Black Seed was used to spice breads and cakes, and throughout the Middle East, Asia and Europe baked goods were spiced with Black Seeds in combination with cumin or coriander and used to flavour curries and pickles.

High quality black seed oil can also be ingested in liquid form, applied topically to benefit the skin and is often used in massage oils, shampoos, homemade skin-care products and fragrances.
