100% authentic oudh from the best natural ingredients
Indulge in the essence of history and nature with Vathimi Raja —a oudh oil that captures the spirit of Sri Lanka’s rich heritage, its cultural significance, and the enchanting allure of one of nature’s finest gifts.
Vathimi Raja is a premium oudh oil made from the rare Walla Patta tree, also known as Aquilaria Gyrinops. This special oudh comes from the lush forests of Sri Lanka and carries a deep, rich scent. We named it after Vathimi Raja, the first Muslim ruler of Sri Lanka, to honor his legacy and the cultural heritage he represents.
Ruling in the early 14th century, Vathimi Raja played a key role in shaping the region’s history. His leadership and influence helped build both culture and trade in Sri Lanka. By naming this oudh after him, we pay tribute to the history of Sri Lankan Muslims and their long-standing connection to oudh. For centuries, people have used oudh in Sri Lanka for religious, healing, and cultural purposes.
Vathimi Raja’s scent tells a beautiful story. It opens with warm, deep oceanic notes mixed with hints of tropical mango and salty sea breeze. Soon after, woody tones rise, followed by soft, powdery resins. As it evolves, you’ll notice touches of floral and oudy layers blending into a smooth, relaxing finish. The scent stays on the skin for hours and creates a calm, elegant atmosphere.
The Walla Patta tree grows in Sri Lanka’s moist forests and produces a resin that is both rare and precious. Extracting and transporting it isn’t easy. Getting it out of Sri Lanka takes patience and bringing it all the way to Australia adds another challenge. We distilled this oil in copper and aged it for two years to enhance its depth and richness.
With Vathimi Raja, you don’t just get a fine oudh, you experience history, nature, and culture in one bottle. It’s a fragrant reminder of Sri Lanka’s beauty, the story of its people, and the magic of one of nature’s finest gifts.

OUDH FACTS
When used in a perfume composition, Oud is most often a base note, which tends to remain on the skin long after the others dissipate. Since they form the perfume’s foundation, base notes are very rich, heavy and long-lasting (up to six hours and more). They serve to enhance the scent of other ingredients; and, in some cases, they impart a fragrance all their own. While most wood notes are known for their earthy qualities, Oud provides a pleasant sweet scent and is often featured in a synthetic version because it is so costly to harvest.

I absolutely did not expect how high pitched the top notes of this would be based on the color of the oil. Even through the cap it smelled like it’d be on the funkier side of oud, but as soon as I smelled the dip stick I immediately seen a crystal clear blue ocean. Yes, I seen the Silani blue from the dip stick.
The oil starts kind of quiet and ethereal, but after warming up on the skin for a minute it starts singing like a choir.
It has everything you’d want from a Silani: oceanic (without salt), mangoes, flowers, and oud resin. But what struck me was this sense of familiarity that brought with it an olfactory induced nostalgia. Suddenly I was a kid again, playing in a sprinkler on a hot summer day. The smell of garden hose water dispersed in the air, grass and flowers kicked up from kids playing, a tray of fruit and pouches of capri suns on the picnic table, and not a care in the world.
A really wild experience. I can’t wait to try the wood used in the distillation that came with it!

I love how velvety this feels on the skin. I’m wearing a purple cashmere. Swipes a bit on hand and bit on the cuffs. This scent was built for this sweater.
From the skin I get Salty Ambergris. Silani Resin. Slight indoles even.
From the sweater, it’s all about blue fuzzy warm incense.
Good decision to take the bottle with me while travelling.

Starts off with a massive blast of briny ocean breeze. This marine note calms down and it begins to also smell like the pit of a peach with some juices still coating it. I am also getting a bit of coconut, which when combined with the aquatics makes me think of sunscreen. Once it has fully dried down, the fruit and sunscreen leave and I pick up a very clean new car leather. Very clean refreshing oud for a hot summer day that develops over the wear.
