100% authentic oudh from the best natural ingredients
Presenting TURATH II – a masterful showcase of alchemic haute perfumery composed on the foundation of Oudhs, Sandalwoods and musk.
A seamless harmony of scents, this mukhallat boasts Rare Bulgarian white rose alba, Bulgarian and Taifi Rose Damask, Oudh, Sandalwoods, Ambergris, Musk, Saffron, Somali frankincense and Myrrh, just to name a few, to create as we claim ‘the best blend of the year’.
Siberian Musk: Prepared in the distinct manner of Al Shareef this prized ingredient was macerated in Malaysian Oudh and steeped in a tantalising blend of Oudh and sandalwood oils from multiple regions.
Saffron; In my many years of distillation and crafting scents I had not heard of anyone distilling the Golden Seal saffron of Kashmir. This is arguably the best saffron in the world. Kashmiri saffron is recognisable by its dark purple hue – it is among the world’s darkest, which hints at strong flavour, aroma, and colouring effect. It demands a price in weight greater than gold. In modern day perfumery it is hardly heard of. Most saffron perfumery products are derived from the stems of the plant rather than the actual saffron threads.
Frankincense; Somalian Frankincense and Myrrh have become extremely popular over the last few years due to the infamous Omani crops being neglected by traditional growers,. In fact, many traders will buy Frankincense from the Somalian families and hawk it off as ‘the famous Hojari’ as it is difficult to tell the difference. We hand collected the cream of the Somalian crop – Frankincense that delivers an ethereal, dry, diffusive, bright and crispy aroma for the purpose of our middle notes.
Myrrh, frankincense, malaysian oudh and spices were hand distilled by Al Shareef himself and aged for 4 years in specialised curing chambers before being blended into sandalwood oils from a variety of regions together with a number of Oudhs, Finally the musk and ambergris blended together with touches of bergamot, patchouli and other exquisite ingredients to bind into a decadent blend.
Spices:Tantalising glimpses of Clove, Pepper, Cinnamon, Aniseed and Cardamom provide a warm spice presence so often neglected from modern-day Mukhallats.
Paying tribute to the Turath series, this blend opens with an exquisite incense-like waft of musk basked in sun dried roses and spices. A smokeless fragrant wave of musky woods closely followed by a sweet animalic leather with undertones of citrusy rose petals. Whispers of musky patchouli drizzles through with the flourish of rose welcoming spicey woods and musky hay with dustings of nutty earth.
Experience beauty, wonder and nostalgia as you find yourself traversing the ancient courtyards of the orient.

OUDH FACTS
When used in a perfume composition, Oud is most often a base note, which tends to remain on the skin long after the others dissipate. Since they form the perfume’s foundation, base notes are very rich, heavy and long-lasting (up to six hours and more). They serve to enhance the scent of other ingredients; and, in some cases, they impart a fragrance all their own. While most wood notes are known for their earthy qualities, Oud provides a pleasant sweet scent and is often featured in a synthetic version because it is so costly to harvest.
